My day today has consisted of this:
and this:
I really do not enjoy statistics. Chemistry and Biology can be challenging. But think it’s fascinating! Statistics….not so much. I just keep repeating to myself, “3 more weeks, 3 more weeks…” I still have much more to do before I can pack it in this evening, so I will wait until tomorrow to show you my yummy dinner and dessert creations on tap for tonight!
Stats stresses me out so much that on days when I focus on this class, I find I do a lot of stress/boredom/frustration eating. Fortunately, because of my stock of Burdick’s chocolate, I had some tasty (and not entirely unhealthy!) snacking. This dark chocolate bar has blueberries and goji berries inside! Highly recommended!
I’m embarrassed to say I ate the whole bar over the course of the day. But I think many people can relate. And if you can’t….try spending hours on statistics and then talk to me! Hee Hee!
Last night was a really simple dinner. I just didn’t have time in the kitchen. So a salad, paired with acorn squash was it. So simple, but so good! I also added some cottage cheese for a dose of protein.
Unlike yesterday, I did carve out a little time in the kitchen this afternoon, so I am hoping I am in for a treat tonight….and you are in for a treat tomorrow!
I have to go learn how to test a hypothesis about a mean when the standard deviation is known (not to be confused with testing a hypothisis when the standard deviation is unknown!). Jeesh!
That does not look fun! I’m facing similar stresses, except with Finance not Stats. The three weeks will go by before you know it! (or at least that’s why I’m telling myself)
Thanks! I need all the reminders I can get that the semester is almost over!
i HATE statistics. HATE. z tables, t tables, STATA…all of it.
bell curves suck. the only time stats helps is when you are in another class, and the professor gives you : SD and mean and you can figure out what part of the curve you’re in – upper range, middle, or…you failed.
=D
Great job on your Green Dog Wine guest post!! 🙂
That chocolate bar looks so unique and delicious!!
ahhhh, bringing back BAD MEMORIES!!! I can related to the bar of chocolate, for sure. Actually I’m eating some dark chocolate right now, with no excuse other than it’s delicious.
Keep up the good work, only 3 more weeks, not so bad!
I didn’t enjoy stats when I took it in college either. Yuck! Your acorn squash looks divine! I had my first taste last night and LOVED it so I’m looking for other ideas of things to do with them. Thanks for the tip 🙂
Danielle
Thanks! This is only the second time I made acorn squash. Butternut is my favorite, but I will definitely be buying this one more often! Thanks for visiting!
The end is in sight! I used to make a paper chain after Thanksgiving counting down the days until the end of the semester – I even wrote the papers/tests on the specific days so when I ripped them off, it was even more satisfying!
Your dinner looks delish – love the acorn squash!
That is a great idea!
Ugh, math was never, ever my strong suit. The only thing I like is mean, median and mode 🙂
3 more weeks!!! At least your food is looking delicious!
Thanks! I was looking forward to my next meal all day because I was bored and frustrated!
Oh yes, stats…the kiss of death. When I am done with all my education I will have taken it 4 times. That is just torture. Well, at least 2 down, 2 to go, so I am half way there. I wish you luck with all the studying and exams and stuff.
Oh, I am so sorry! 4 stats classes! Why can’t you get out of it because you’ve taken it before?
I like Heather’s idea of a paper chain to count down the days. You can rip each chain off in either excitement or anger depending on your workload that day 😉
I’ve been wanting to make acorn squash again, but have no idea what to stuff it with. Cottage cheese sounds like a winner. Did you add it after or did you cook it for a few minutes with the cottage cheese in it? I bet ricotta would work as well.
Can’t wait to see what you cooked up last night!
I just added a scoop afterward because I realized I had no protein. It was good. I really liked what I made last time. I added quinoa, chickpeas and veggies all mixed together. I might add some cottage cheese or ricotta to that mixture next time….
I also hate statistics! Yuck! Well I just dislike math period unless I’m typing up an invoice to send out. Then it’s helpful. 😉
Thanks for visiting! I don’t think I have ever actually commented on your blog. I’m not a fan of any math. But statistics especially!
