I did it! I finished my first semester back in school. I think I did well and I feel like I learned so much! And best of all…it’s all over for 3 weeks! I am free! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I left my test and went right to get my hair cut. It felt so good to have all of those stringy ends cut off. My hair is very fine and it can’t go months and months without a trim. I had requests for hair pictures, so here you go.
Me, striking a pose:
And look! I have layers again!
I am feeling much better now. We are going out for dinner tonight for Dave’s birthday. Nothing too fancy. He wanted a burritto, and it’s his birthday, so we’re heading to Boloco. There are several of these in the Boston area, but the gentleman who started the company, opened one in Hanover, NH as well. We went there alot while we lived there. It’ll be a little bit nostalgic.
When we come home, I have a treat for Dave. I wanted to go out and buy the ingredients on Saturday, but he wanted to take my car when he brought our cats to my parents’ house. So I was carless that day. And yesterday, we were snowed in. So today I stopped into the store. When Dave was growing up, he never had a birthday cake. He doesn’t like cake. (Blasphemy, if you ask me! I love my frosting!!). But he always had a cookie pie. So I made him one. With the only chocolate he ever craves…peanut butter cups!
Since he doesn’t “do” frosting. I frosted it with peanut butter. I wanted to know it would be good, so this one is packed with gluten. I’ll just watch him enjoy. After we get back from Christmas, I am going to spend some of my free time experimenting with some gluten-free flours. I am missing my baked goods!!
I am snuggled up with a hot water bottle and sipping hot chocolate while blogging. It doesn’t better than that! Tomorrow I have to clean and think about packing (ugh!). But tonight, I am going to be a bum! It feels great!
Have a great night everyone 🙂
Love the haircut and the pie you made is great! My husband would love that – Peanut butter is his favorite!
Enjoy the evening and don’t think about cleaning or packing – it will all be there tomorrow!
Have fun at Boloco!
Your hair looks great! Very pretty smile you have too! 🙂
Have fun celebrating with the birthday boy! Doesn’t like cake??!!!! Holy cow. I didn’t think it was possible… at least he makes up for it by liking PB cups and PB frosting, hehe! 🙂 How sweet of you to make such a yummy looking cookie pie!! 🙂
Your hair looks great and you look beautiful as always.
I’m a frosting girl too, but I could get down with that cookie. Have a great date night and Happy Birthday Dave!
Nick and I are bums tonight too. Just relaxing, and watching a movie.
Glad you are done with your schooling for a while. I’m jealous of the 3 week break! Take advantage, as much as you can, of this 3 week break, as it will be missed when you don’t have it. Take it from me, this is my first year not having one!!!
The cake looks so good, especially with the pb cups on top. It’s scary how much Dave and Nick are alike. A cookie cake, and burrito for his birthday would be just what he would ask for.
Congrats for being finished Shannon and happy holidays! Have a BLAST this week. Oh, and LOVE the hair cut! I bet it feels great.
Too bad you don’t live closer….we’d have great double dates! I bet our boys would hit it off 🙂
Congrats on finishing the term. Enjoy the break. I like the cookie idea. Good compromise for not liking cake.
Congrats on finally finishing! You must feel so relieved 🙂 Enjoy these three weeks!!
I love me some frosting too, but I love cookies even more. That cookie pie looks amazing. Happy Birthday Dave!!
LOVE the haircut! Very nice! And the peanut butter cookie “cake” looks yummy!
Congrats on finishing the term!
so creative to use PB as frozing! that pie looks awesome.
i LOVE your haircut-lookin goood girl!
Your hair looks fab!
Neat idea to sub peanut butter for the frosting!
YAY!!!!!!!! You look gorgeous girl!!! Have you seen the babycakes cookbook? It has vegan, gluten-free goodies and I want to try it out I think. Boy that cake sure looks devine!
Oooh! Thanks…I haven’t seen that cookbook yet.
