Well, we’re 2 for 2 this week. News of a healthy baby yesterday morning, and then late last night, news that our offer on the house has been accepted! I am so excited! This is our first time owning our own house and the timing is perfect with a little one on the way! Thank you all for being so excited for us. When something good happens, I love the feeling of wanting to share the news with my blog friends! 🙂
Many of you asked me if we would find out the baby’s sex. Oh yeah! I am such a planner. I need to know. I have always wanted a little girl…I love the idea of buying cute little girl clothes and having a relationship with my daughter like the relationship I have with my mom. I remember growing up and going to lunch and shopping with my mom and grandmother. All the girls! Great memories, and I look forward to having a daughter one day so that my and I can share “girl days” with her.
All that being said…. I have been so nervous throughout the first trimester that something will happen to this baby, that I don’t care anymore if its a boy or a girl. I just want him/her to be healthy. Also, since my sister-in-law’s twin boys were born last fall, I have had no doubts that I will be equally in love with a baby boy. I just adore our nephews so much and it breaks my heart that they are all the way in Seattle. We have wed video chats sometimes, but its not the same. 😦 Bottomline: Boy or girl, I don’t care. Just be healthy!

That’s enough baby news for today. Lets move on to the food! I have been on such a cheesey kick lately. I go through a lot of Laughing Cow!
Last night, I really wanted mac and cheese. Trader Joe’s makes a rice mac and cheese and I like it a lot. But it is twice the price of their regular mac and cheese. So instead of splitting the box with Dave, I made 2 different boxes.
His and hers! Mine was mixed with spinach tomato and broccoli (and topped with parmesan cheese…I just can’t get enough cheese!).
Dave passed on the spinach and tomato, but he had some of his favorite vegetable…broccoli! And a couple of crescent rolls. 🙂 He was hungry and was almost done by the time I got a picture. It must have been good!
Tonight included more cheese. I made my new favorite…spaghetti squash with spinch, artichoke, and tomato and Laughing Cow. I just love it! I always include the same things, but add different protein sources. Tonight it was black beans. Yum!
Time to unplug for the evening…. Thanks you all again for your kind words and excitement. It is so fun to share this with you! I hope I can get some pictures of the new house that I can share with you when we have our inspection next week. I’d post the listing itself because it has so many great pictures of the house and property….but I don’t want any crazies out there to know our new address! Internet safety, you know!
congratulations on both – i really wanted a girl – back in the day when you didn’t know if it was a boy or girl till it popped out – and the brought the baby out in a pink blanket – it was a boy – they had run out of blue blankets 🙂 he is 31 now and the best thing that ever happened – so i know what you mean – just healthy
Congratulations! This is such great, great news! I totally agree with you. You’re going to be in love with your baby no matter if it’s a he or a she. As long as the baby is healthy, what else could matter? Again, congratulations on the healthy baby and the house!
Mac & cheese and crescent rolls – my kind of meal! But I would had added some extra veggies to my dinner, too 🙂
Congrats on the house news!!!!!! How exciting!! I’m the same way – whenever my time comes, I really, really, really want a girl. I have ever since I was little. I just “click” more with girls. But like you said, as long as the baby is healthy, of course it will be loved and who knows, a boy might be even better! 😉
Have a great day, Shannon!!
Congratulations! When do you move?
I would definitely want to know the sex. For decorating and wardrobe choices obviously 😉
There’s no such thing as too much cheese…eat it up girl!
Yay for the good news on the house!!!! And I hear you on hoping for a girl. I did the same thing. Of course I would have been thrilled either way, but I think all moms have a little bit of a hope one way or the other on the sex of the baby.
Congrats on the house!
So, when you find out the sex of the baby, are you going to share with us all in blogland?! 🙂
Congrats on the house!!! And I can’t wait till you reveal the sex…how exciting!
Congrats on getting the house! Its just such great timing!
Congrats. That is super exciting. I wish we could buy a house, but it is tough when we are overseas, and do not know where we will be living next. Luckily we like excitement and adventure, so we are content getting to see the world, and will buy a house when we can.
I love the idea of adding to the mac and cheese. I love it so much and I have never added anything other than broccoli to it.
Double yay!
Whether it is a boy OR a girl, you will be great parents!
oh I would need to know too! i would plan the nursery and colors based on sex oh and names !! hwo exciting!!!!
LOVE adding veggies to any pasta to bump up those nutrients 🙂
I definitely hear you on the planning thing, I think I’d want to know too!
I’M SO excited for you guys about the house! All of a sudden this morning I was like mid-teaching a lesson and I was like I have to check to see if they found out about the house haha. When do you close?
PS. You might be able to save the image to your computer from the listing and then post it- without showing the address? I think…
I like broccoli in my mac-n-cheese like your hubs… 🙂
I am so glad you are having a good week! What great news! I knew from the time I found out I was pregnant that the squirrel was a little girl. I didn’t care what she was though! This time around I have no idea. My husband is hoping for a little boy but I think it would be neat to have 2 little girls so close in age…
CONGRATS!! WE are probably at about the same point of the house buying process. We had our bid accepted last weekend, now we are doing the inspection (yesterday…) and signing all the papers, and gathering all the paperwork. It’s CRAZY how much paperwork there is!
I think when I am pregnant I will be like you, very nervous about the first trimester, but super excited at the same time. I’ll probably become a freak about eating healthy and organic, I already sense that’s how I will be. Any strange cravings yet? I think I will crave pickled foods! I already do sometimes 🙂
Congrats again! I can’t wait to see the house! Can you blurb out the address and everything?? Or maybe we can just see the inside!
Aw, what a fantastic day!! So happy for you!
you’re full of good news 🙂 good luck finalizing everything for the house! … and now i’m craving mac n cheese 🙂 have a great weekend!
